Visit Quad Cities

Visit Quad Cities, formerly known as the Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau, was founded in 1990. Before 1990, there were separate organizations throughout the region, including the Davenport and Bettendorf Visitors Bureaus and the Illinois Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau. In an effort to strengthen the community, combining these separate entities allowed the entire region to collaborate and work as one to maximize the value of the Quad Cities as a destination.  This makes Visit Quad Cities the official DMMO (Destination Management and Marketing Organization) for the region, in both Northwest Illinois and Eastern Iowa. 

The mission of Visit Quad Cities is to enhance the region’s quality of life and create economic development opportunities through tourism to inspire and build our Mississippi River regional destination. This makes QC PastPort and Visit Quad Cities natural partners. ”QC PastPort is bringing our community’s history and culture to the forefront, offering an experience visitors and Quad Citizens can learn and grow from,” said Dave Herrell, President and CEO of Visit Quad Cities. “Visit Quad Cities is always supportive of endeavors that add value, improve quality of life and place, spark conversations, and keep the momentum of our rich history moving forward.”

Our work in telling the stories of local history dovetails naturally with the work of Visit Quad Cities. The Quad Cities encompasses an area rich with diversity shown through the unique neighborhoods threaded throughout each of our area towns. Visit Quad Cities fosters the culture of Midwestern inclusion and equity to promote our communities, natural splendor, museums, educational institutions, local businesses, and more. They are a valuable resource for both Quad Citizens and visitors.
