A lot is happening at QC PastPort. We’re excited to announce we five new destinations were installed this month, and we have more destinations coming this summer. It’s an exciting time for history lovers in the Quad Cities. We’re proud to play a part in preserving our rich history and give Quad Citizens an entertaining way to learn about our shared history.
You can see our new signs at the Rock Island Public Library, Prospect Park, Sylvan Slough, St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, and St. John’s Church. Visitors can read a bit of history on the signs, then type a code on their phone to access full historical narratives about the site and listen to audio productions about the location.
“We want to thank our partners at each of these locations for their support and dedication to preserving and sharing history,” says QC PastPort President Natalie Linville-Mass. “We could not do this without them. We look forward to continuing to work with our partners throughout the region to bring history alive across the Quad Cities.”
Keep an eye on our social media pages and our website. This is going to be a busy summer at QC PastPort.
